Culture department now in Spanish — Spanish's fifth department

Cultura joins Planificar, Dónde alojarse, Islas and Comida, making Spanish the first language to reach five fully translated departments.

What's new

Cultura is now the fifth fully Spanish-translated department, the first for any language to reach five. Five pages, all in Spanish, on some of the most important context on the whole site:

Why we translated this section carefully

Culture is the department where getting the tone right matters most — the 1893 overthrow, sacred sites, and living traditions aren't content to simplify or soften for a translation. We aimed to preserve the same directness and respect the English pages were written with, not a smoothed-over version.

Where the count stands

124 English pages. Spanish now covers five full departments (Plan, Stay, Islands, Food, Culture — 28 pages total). Japanese and French each still cover four. Next up: catching Japanese or French up to five, or a sixth department for Spanish.
