Four guides across three departments this round, each one closing out a promise we'd made on an earlier "next on the board" callout:
- Stand-up paddleboarding (Do) — where the genuinely flat-water bays are, the difference between a casual rental and real surf-SUP, and the leash rule almost nobody explains to first-timers.
- Hawaiʻi wine & spirits (Food) — MauiWine's pineapple wine at 2,000 feet on Haleakalā, Kō Hana's single-estate Hawaiian sugarcane rum, and the traditional ʻōkolehao spirit almost nobody pours anymore.
- Kid-friendly restaurants (Food) — why casual counter service is the default here rather than the exception, build-your-own formats that work for picky eaters, and when a resort dinner actually needs a reservation.
- Vacation rentals vs. booking sites (Stay) — Airbnb vs. VRBO vs. booking direct, the real fee breakdown once TAT and GET are added, and why the short-term rental rules genuinely differ county to county.
Housekeeping
We also went back through a few department hub pages and updated some "next on the board" callouts that had quietly gone stale — a couple pointed at guides that had already shipped. Same habit as always: caught it, fixed it, moved on.
Where the count stands
113 pages live across eight departments, six fully mapped islands, and a growing multi-language section. Next up: more Spanish department translations beyond Plan, and a few more Do and Stay guides already sketched out.
